Combating coronavirus: Muslim Community initiative spraying streets of Maputo, Mozambique

A Muslim Community [Comunidade Mahometana] initiative is marshalling young volunteers to disinfect public places twice a week.
Early on Friday morning, 15 young volunteers, equipped with masks, gloves, boots and gear, were already active on the streets of Maputo’s CBD (Baixa).
Given that the coronavirus is heedless in who it targets, the action is welcome, members of the public say.
Vendors in the central market in downtown Maputo, one of the places chosen for disinfection, said were happy with the initiative.
Several entities are implementing disinfection measures in various places, including public transport.
