The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) says information circulating on social media that the city of Maputo will be hit by a violent wave of cold air in the next few days, is not true.
INAM highlights that the cold front will affect the Republic of South Africa but says that Mozambique will not experience any such drop in temperatures. INAM explains that, at least until Monday, the cold front will continue to dominate the neighbouring country but will not be able to overcome the barrier of hot air preventing it from moving into Mozambique.
INAM however warns that cold weather may be experienced in some parts of the national territory, as has been the case.
