President Chapo highlights Mozambique's excellent relations with Portugal
Domingo / CNE's Paulo Cuinica
The National Electoral Commission (CNE) has submitted proposed dates for holding the electoral census to the Council of Ministers in view of the October 2018 municipal elections.
CNE spokesperson Paulo Cuinica said the census period would be announced by the Council of Ministers, but the Electoral Commission recommended that it take place during the first half of next year.
Speaking at a press conference last Friday, Cuinica said that the process of setting up provincial and district electoral commissions had already been completed, with a total of 176 provincial commission members, including those from government, sworn in.
District and city commissions have 944 members spread across the 59 districts where the municipal elections will take place.
