Cimentos de Moçambique sells 10,000 tonnes of cement to natural gas projects

Cement company Cimentos de Moçambique has sold more than 10,000 tonnes of cement to build the initial structures for natural gas exploration projects in the Rovuma basin, in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province, said the company’s managing director, Edney Vieira.
“We stand for local content, so we support the government’s decision to demand the use of national cement only, a measure that will benefit the entire sector, maintain the competitiveness of national industry and create jobs and tax revenue for the state,” Vieira said, quoted by Mozambican newspaper Notícias.
The managing director acknowledged that Cimentos de Moçambique, like other companies in the country, had faced economic problems and crises, but was able to overcome them.
As part of the celebration of the 95th anniversary of Cimentos de Moçambique, the company launched the project to create the Cement Museum and signed a memorandum of understanding for the installation of a staff training centre to serve all industries in the country.
