Gemfields Group Ltd – London-headquartered gemstones supplier – says South African businessman Christo Wiese has resigned as a non-executive director, and company is in the process of confirming a replacement. “It is with great regret that we say farewell to Christo for he has served the company well over the years, during which the board and management have benefited from his vast breadth and depth of experience,” says Chair Martin Tolcher.

Gemfields advises that Dr Christo Wiese resigned as a Non-Executive Director of the Company on, and with effect from, 23 September 2021.
The Company is in the process of confirming a replacement for Dr Wiese.
Mr Martin Tolcher, Chairman of the Board, commented: “It is with great regret that we say farewell to Christo for he has served the Company well over the years, during which the Board and management have benefited from his vast breadth and depth of experience. On behalf of everyone at the Company, I wish him all the best and hope that our paths may cross again.”
