Chinese national detained at Beira airport in possession of objects made of rhino horn

Another foreigner of Asian origin has been detained in Beira in possession of a suitcase containing objects made of rhinoceros horn.
The man was detained at Beira International Airport on Wednesday night as he was leaving for China, travelling via South Africa.
The man declined to speak to the press, and police still do not know the origin of the rhinoceros horns.
Another Chinese national had been caught at Beira International Airport at the beginning of the year trying to embark for China while in possession of ivory tusks.
Also in Beira, the police have broken up a gang specialising in burglaries.
They have also arrested a young man who admitted breaking into residences as part of a gang of four and stealing vehicle ignition keys and respective documents. The other three gang members remain at large.
