Fourteen Chinese capital projects, valued at more than twenty-three million dollars, have been implemented in Sofala province since last year.
These are projects linked to the hospitality, tourism, agriculture, industry, trade, fishing and construction sectors, Chinese ambassador to Mozambique Sun Jian told the press on Friday after a meeting with the governor of Sofala, Maria Helena Taipo.
Investment in the hotel and tourism sectors alone amounted to around twelve million dollars, Sun said.
The Chinese ambassador told Governor Taipo that his country was interested in increasing investment levels in the region, and provincial government spokesman Élcio Canda announced that a group of Chinese businessmen would be visiting Sofala soon to research business opportunities.
