China has offered the Mozambican interior ministry a variety of supplies relating to police functions.
The Chinese ambassador in Mozambique, Su Jian, made the offer to the Minister of the Interior, Basílio Monteiro in Maputo on Friday.
The donation includes fabric for police uniforms and IT equipment such as computers, printers and scanners. This is the second donation in recent months, and is estimated to be worth about US$2.5 million.
Basilio Monteiro thanked the Chinese for their gesture, saying it would help make the Mozambican police force better able to carry out their mission of guaranteeing public order and security.
