Child dies in road accident in Coop, Maputo

A child of about nine years old whose identity we have not yet been able to determine was killed by a light vehicle on Vladimir Lenine Avenue in the Coop neighbourhood of the Mozambican capital on Thursday.
The victim was in the company of a lady who is presumed to be a domestic worker at the house of the deceased.
Witnesses told @Verdade that the woman and her charge were in the middle of the road when the child was struck by one of the rear wheels of the car.
“The lady accompanying the girl was also suffered hit and seriously injured. The two had left the supermarket when were run over. The lady was quickly taken to hospital along with the driver. We do not know what happened next,” a young man who witnessed the accident told @Verdade.
