Mozambique: CCMUSA strengthens partnership with the Ministry of Economy during official visit
Mozambique Ports and Railways (CFM) Southern Region is to invest more than one million meticais for ticket offices’ upgrading ticket offices and erecting shaded waiting areas at the Machava 15 and Lusalite stations.
The works launch ceremony took place yesterday morning. The works responds to a request made by Matola municipality for better conditions for rail transport users.
According to the Railroad Director of the Mozambican Railways, Teodomiro ngelo, the works will last about two months, and will be significant for passengers.
CFM South says that about 400,000 users were transported in the first half of this year alone, compared to the 385,000 initially foreseen. On the Ressano Garcia line, 1.8 million passengers were expected to be transported.
