Notícias / Catembe
A ‘tourism week’ kicks off in Catetembe today, culminating with celebration of World Tourism Day on 27 September, held this year under the motto “Sustainable Tourism: A Tool for Development”.
The inauguration ceremony will be chaired by Minister of Culture and Tourism Silva Dunduro, and will be attended by public and private stakeholders in the sector. Scheduled events include lectures, clean-up days, cultural evenings, shows and gastronomic fairs.
The culture and tourism sector and Maputo provincial government are committed to involving educational institutions and the private sector in the event through lectures and interactive debates on the importance of tourism in Mozambique.
Mozambique has been celebrating World Tourism Day since 1995, when it was admitted as a full member of the World Tourism Organisation in October of that year in Cairo.
