Cabo Verde’s prime minister,Ulisses Correia e Silva,is on Wednesday on the island of Sal to preside over the opening of the sixth Cabo Verde Investment Forum, where the country is to promote opportunities in various areas.
The event will highlight the tourism, transport, green economy (renewable energies and agribusiness), blue economy (fisheries and aquaculture) and digital economy sectors, the Cabo Verde government said in a statement.
“Information will also be presented on improving the business environment, the [state’s] privatisation plan, support programmes for the private sector and financing instruments through venture capital and credit guarantees,” it added.
One of the participants in the forum will be Angola’s minister of tourism, Márcio de Jesus Lopes Daniel, who begins a two-day visit to Cabo Verde on Tuesday at the invitation of his Cabo Verde counterpart, Carlos Santos, to strengthen relations.
The Angolan minister will speak on a panel about opportunities for co-operation and will meet with Cabo Verde’s prime minister.
The Cabo Verde Investment Forum is organised by Cabo Verde TradeInvest, a public entity that promotes attracting foreign investment to the archipelago.
This is the third time the event has been held in Sal – the previous ones were in 2009 and 2022 – while the others were held in Boston, Dubai and New York.
