The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Margarida Adamugi Talapa, within the scope of the Health Action Program of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), has delivered Covid˗19 prevention and mitigation materials, consisting of 500 buckets with taps, 1,200 x 500 ml bottles of alcohol gel, 200 boxes of soap, 10,000 cloth masks and 100 boxes of bleach to beneficiaries in Cabo Delgado.
Also within the scope of the INSS Sanitary Action Program included in the Post-Terrorism Assistance and Reconstruction Program for the Province of Cabo Delgado, the head of the Labour and Social Security sector delivered essential products consisting of 1,000 x 25 kg bags of rice, 1,000 x 25 kg bags of flour, 1,000 x 5 litters of cooking oil and 1,000 x 5 kg bags of beans.
During the same visit to Cabo Delgado, and in the spirit of boosting the activities of self-employed workers (trabalhadores por conta própria -TCP) there, Minister Talapa delivered 80 freezers and 100 cooler boxes for fish conservation to fishermen registered with the INSS. The minister also delivered 2,000 zinc sheets for the reconstruction of pensioners’ houses destroyed by terrorist action.
Speaking on the occasion, Talapa said that rebuilding Cabo Delgado was a challenge which everyone must rise to.
“We are aware that our gesture is not, in itself, the culmination of the intended process of creating well-being, but an unmistakable sign that we are all called to join our efforts for the development of this province,” she said.
The deliveries this Wednesday were witnessed by António Supeia and Valige Tauabo, Secretary of State and Governor of Cabo Delgado Province, respectively.
The visit of the Minister of Labour and Social Security ended on Thursday, December 9, with the laying of the first stone for the construction of the new INSS district headquarters in Metuge.
