Former President Chissano warns against misinterpretation of peace accords in Mozambique
President Nyusi has dismissed as governors Julio Parruque, Manuel Rodrigues and Francisca Tomás, who are candidates in the October provincial elections, and on Monday appointed their substitutes for the next 60 days.
To replace Júlio Parruque, who is standing as head of the Frelimo party list for governor of Maputo province, the head of state appointed the current Deputy Minister of Education Armindo Saúl Atelela Ngunga to govern Cabo Delgado for the next 60 days.
Manuel Rodrigues, head of the ruling party’s list in Nampula, will be replaced as governor of Manica province for the next two months by Manuela Joaquim Rebelo, currently serving as Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Higher Education and Vocational Training, Leda Hugo, will replace Niassa Provincial Governor Francisca Domingos Tomás, who is head of the “comrades” party list for the governor of Manica province.Source: A Verdade
