Following the terrorist attack on the village of Murameia in Hucula administrative post, Namuno, which caused the displacement of some families, Governor of Cabo Delgado Valige Tauabo paid a working visit to the area to show solidarity with communities affected by terrorism.
At the rally attended by people who fled to the Namuno district headquarters village, he spoke words of comfort and of hope of returning, while reporting that the Defence and Security Forces were in pursuit of the enemy, so as to re-establish tranquillity.
He asked the population to increase surveillance and report the movement of any strange people.
After the public meeting, the Cabo Delgado governor went to the Commune C neighbourhood, where he visited a citizen injured in the Murameia attack.
In Namuno, Tauabo met with community authorities and reinforced calls for vigilance in communities as well as within families, especially regarding young people easily led astray with promises of an easy life.
Namuno District Administrator Maria Felisbela Lázaro made it known in her speech that the attack on communities in Hucula administrative post displaced around 10,390 people to the district headquarters village. Of these, 1,785 were men, 2,263 women and 6,342 children.
