On Tuesday, governor Julio Parruque of Cabo Delgado has visited Monjane village, Olumbi administrative post, in Palma district, which this week was targeted by armed men, and expressed his solidarity with the bereaved families, Notícias reports.
Parruque visited the graves of the deceased and met the people, who he encouraged to remain in the village, as the situation was now under the control of the Defence and Security Forces (FDS). He also asked that they continue to cooperate with the FDS, denouncing all those who supported or collaborated with the miscreants.
He pointed out that Cabo Delgado faced a serious challenge in combating wicked people who would do everything in their power to undermine the government’s agenda.
He urged village residents to persuade any relatives they might have in the woods to return to family life and join in efforts to develop the district in particular and the country in general.
