Mozambique: Africa “excessively dependent on imported medicines", says Chapo

The Governor of Cabo Delgado province, Valige Tauabo, on Monday inaugurated a block of classrooms in Mpupeni village, Namanhumbir administrative post, Montepuez district.
The infrastructure was built as part of Montepuez Ruby Mining’s social responsibility program, and consists of three classrooms equipped with desks, an administrative building, four toilets and a water source.
Speaking after the inauguration and directing the ceremony for the opening of the 2022 academic year, Valige Tauabo said that, in order to properly value the efforts of the government and partners, children, adolescents and young people must attend classes.
The governor said that girls and children with special educational needs should take priority, and be encouraged to attend education programs at the school.
This year, 527,647 students are expected to enrol in the various educational subsystems and will be assisted by 9,565 teachers.
In the adult literacy and education sector, 16,939 students will be enrolled, against 16,906 learners enrolled in 2021.
