Mozambique: Arrested for alleged attempt to sell 27-year-old friend, 6-year-old daughter - Watch

Following an offensive operation carried out on 25th September 2021, which led to the destruction of an Al Sunnah wa Jama’ah (ASWJ) terrorists’ base South of Chitama settlement in Nangade District, SAMIM would like to confirm that ASWJ base leader, Sheikh Dr Njile North was killed along with eighteen (18) other terrorists.
Rajab Awadhi Ndanjile (Dr Njile) was a native of Litinginya village which is located approximately 15km from Nangade District. He was the leader of the religious sect of ASWJ in Nangade District where he was instrumental in recruitment and indoctrination of members of the group.
Dr Njile is believed to have operated a herbal shop in Litinginya village where he took the opportunity to persuade ordinary citizens to rise against the Government of Mozambique. Moreover, he was involved in the orchestration of the first attack on Mocimboa da Praia on 5th October 2017 and subsequent terrorists’ attacks on villages, abduction of women and children who were later turned into terrorists’ combatants.
SAMIM forces in support of the Government of Mozambique continue to create conditions necessary for a return to normal life in the Province of Cabo Delgado as it pursues the terrorists. SAMIM would like to assure the people of Mozambique and SADC of a collective commitment to achieving a peaceful, stable and secure Cabo Delgado as well as the entire country of Mozambique.
