Mozambique: Government calls for participation in 50th anniversary celebrations

The Council of Ministers this Tuesday ratified a donation agreement signed between the government and the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of US$100 million.
The agreement was signed in Maputo on November 4th, and the amount will go to the financing of the State Budget under Covid-19 and Development of Operations Policies (DPO).
The financing is targeted at the water, gender, social action and banking sectors, with the purpose of alleviating the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Covid-19 has killed 131 people in Mozambique, 100 in the city of Maputo, out of a total 15,770 infected since last March. However, 13,778 (87.4%) are accounted fully recovered, according to the latest Ministry of Health (MISAU) update.
In Tuesday’s cabinet session, the government considered information on the balance and perspectives of the application of measures to prevent the new coronavirus and its impact on the country’s economy, having reiterated its concerns about non-compliance with health recommendations.
Career progression and compensation at CEDSIF
Council of Ministers spokeswoman and Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Ludovina Bernardo told the media that the Executive had in the same session approved a decree changing paragraph 1 of article 20 of Decree no. 67/2019, of 5 August, which approves the rules of organisation, operation and management skills and mechanisms of the Centre for the Development of Financial Information Systems (CEDSIF, IP).
The amendment aims to adjust Decree No. 67/2019, of 5 August, to the rules of Decree No. 41/2018, of 23 July, with regard to the possibility for public institutions adopting differential salary scales according to the specific activity and additional supplements.
The change will regularise the career and remuneration system of employees assigned to CEDSIF, IP, for more than 15 years, Bernardo explained.
The government also approved the decree on the indicative chart applicable to careers and the salary chart applicable to the functions of management, leadership and trust of CEDSIF, IP, within the scope of the regularisation of the career and remuneration subsystem.
