The barge-ferry connecting Guara-Guara and the village of Búzi in Sofala ceased operating again on Wednesday on account of a sharp rise in the flow of the Búzi river.
The information was released by the director of the Búzi Company, Jossefa Mandava, who pointed out that there was heavy rainfall last Sunday in particular.
According to his report, 327 millimeters of rain fell in Búzi between Monday and Tuesday. In the same river basin, Dombe registered in 223.7mm, Muxúnguè 95.0mm, Goonda 46.9mm, Estaquinha 88.4mm, Revuè 73.2mm, Macuiana 70.9mm and Grudja 107.4mm.
This is the third time since January to this part that the barge has ceased operating, bringing to a halt the crossing of people and goods in the section.
