The police of the city of Maputo stopped last night the attempted kidnapping of Salimo A. Carimo, President of the Mohammedan Community (Comunidade Maometana), in a mosque, in Maputo, reports Notícias.
According to data provided by the Maputo Command of Maputo city, Salimo Carimo had just come down from his car. It was then that the two kidnappers that had been following him, stormed into the mosque and tried to abduct him.
The kidnapping was not consummated because police officers passing by, with the help of the mosque guards and the faithful who shouted for help, managed to intervene and stop the crime.
However, the kidnappers managed to escape and police is currently working in order to locate them.
