Mozambique has banned, since yesterday, the import of livestock, cows, pigs, goats and sheep for fattening or slaughter, meat and by-products of these animals from South Africa, due to the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Mpumalanga province.
The ban, decreed by the National Directorate of Veterinary, also prohibits imports of fodder and feed for livetock from South Africa.
