“The Mozambican banking system has a new interbank electronic payment system as from today – the ‘Euronet’ software,” O País reports.
The boards of directors of the Bank of Mozambique and Euronet signed the agreement today.
The Portuguese provider Bizfirst, which had until now maintained provisional control of electronic payment systems, is thereby removed from play, adds the same source.
Speaking at the signing, Bank of Mozambique Governor Rogério Zandamela appealed for seriousness and rigour in the fulfilment of the contract.
