Mozambican analyst Ericino de Salema was abducted, on Avenida 24 de Julho, in Maputo, at around 1:50 pm today. O País has just reported that De Salema “would have received threats yesterday”.
meanwhile, Folha de Maputo reports that the kidnapping took place near the Journalists Union and was perpetrated by ‘unknown individuals.’
Ericino de Salema is a lawyer, journalist and political analyst and became a regular commentator on STV’s Sunday programme ‘Pontos de Vista’ .
De Salema holds a post degree in Human Rights, Democracy and Good Governance from the Technical University of Mozambique and the University of Campinas in Brazil. He also holds degree in Energy Law from UEM and the University of Lisbon.
This is the second time, in less than two years, that a ‘Pontos de Vista’ commentator is kidnapped.
