Daviz Simango, president of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) and mayor of the city of Beira died this Monday, two sources close to the politician told Lusa.
A source from Simango’s Beira office and another from the MDM parliamentary bench confirmed the death.
Daviz Simango had been transported on February 13 by air to a health facility in South Africa due to a sudden health problem, family members said.
At no time was the cause of the health problem specified.
