Mozambique: Rainy season death toll rises to 313
The district of Nangade in Cabo Delgado province witnessed another attack by gunmen yesterday, at around 10:00 p.m.. Two people were killed, a health technician and a civilian, according to Floriberto Fernandes’ (TVM) Facebook page.
The unidentified armed men vandalised the local Health Unit and stole drugs, and also stole four motorcycles and a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Also in the last 48 hours, information has circulated about an attack by an armed group who killed five people and destroyed infrastructure at the Olumbi [also spelt: Olumbe, Ulumbi or Ulumbe] administrative post in Palma district, Cabo Delgado, on Saturday, January 13.
The news started appearing yesterday (Monday) afternoon in the national and foreign press. Palma administrator David Machimbuko confirmed the attack to the Voice of America, but could offer no details.
