Breaking: Major accident causes havoc on Matola-Maputo road

An accident involving a heavy container lorry is causing chaos for traffic between the cities of Matola and Maputo this morning.
Trouble started when an articulated lorry executed a dangerous manoeuvre at about 8:00 a.m. this morning and caused an accident in the Maquinag area, after the Matola toll in Maputo.
The lorry, carrying a container, then overturned on top of five vehicles travelling in the Matola-Maputo direction.
The first reports indicate injuries ranging between serious and light, but no deaths.
Information is still scarce as the resulting traffic jam is making access difficult. A Notícias news crew is trying to reach the location of the accident and will relay more information as it becomes available.
