Mozambique proposes Development Bank under Finance Ministry, not Central Bank
O Pais / Brazil's ambassador to Mozambique, Rodrigo Soares
While admitting that 47 aid projects financed by Brazil in nine countries are being re-evaluated, Brazil’s ambassador to Mozambique, Rodrigo Soares, has denied that funding for transport and energy projects including the Moamba dam and Maputo’s Bus Rapid Transit corridor have been suspended.
Speaking on the sidelines of a seminar in Maputo, Soared said that Brazil and Mozambique had been cooperating in various areas since 1975 and relations between the countries would continue to flourish. Mozambique was still a priority for the new Brazilian government, and agriculture cooperation with Prosavana would not suffer any repercussions, he promised.
Commented on the Embraer aircraft purchased by Mozambique Airlines (LAM), Rodrigo Soares said the Attorney General’s Office would investigate the case in due course.
