The Bonsuíno abattoir is expected to pay a fine of 237,000 meticais [around US$3869, at current exchange rates] for smuggling and poor storage conditions, INAE spokesman Ali Mussa said this morning during a regular National Economic Activities Inspectorate news briefing.
Mussa said that, in another development, around 750 establishments were inspected nationwide last week, with the INAE finding poor hygiene and cleanliness and a general lack of suitable conditions for the sale of some products, including cement.
Also last week, the INAE seized date-expired products from the company Procongel, a meat and fish vendor, promising more details regarding the matter soon.
