A boat capsized today at around 7:00 a.m. on the Chipaca River in Quelimane district, Zambézia. The boat was carrying 16 people, four of whom are missing.
The incident happened when the vessel, travelling from Madal to Quelimane city, was driven off course by the force of the wind and hit a sandbank at low tide.
It is said that the vessel was not authorised to carry passengers.
This is the fourth such accident this year, the first of which, in February, cost four lives, three at the time of the accident and one later in hospital.
