Monologue Festival marks World Theatre Day for artists from Maputo neighbourhoods

The city of Beira, capital of Sofala province, last weekend opened a school of arts dedicated to the promotion of culture and human development and teaching music, dance and visual arts.
The opening ceremony was headed by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ana Comoana, who said that the institution will service the whole of the north of the country.
“We will cover other provinces, with priority given to young people to help their work gain a better reputation both inside and outside the country.”
The opening ceremony featured cultural activities including an arts exhibition and visits the classrooms.
