Mozambique: Kidnapped businessman freed after more than two months in captivity

A citizen of Indian origin – Shokat Adam Ishaqji, 36, from Surat, India – was found dead on Monday at his home in the industrial zone next to the Ferroviário sports pavilion in the city of Beira.
According to reports and the photo of the deceased to which Magazine CRV has had access, his death “appears to have been caused by barbaric refinement, though it is not as yet confirmed by the authorities whether this a crime or a misfortune resulting from a fire, as the body shows signs of burns and also of heavy blows”.
The alert was sounded in the early hours of the morning, but the motivation and the time of the incident remain unclear. Authorities contacted by CRV Magazine declined to comment, saying the case was still under police investigation.
As far as is known, the deceased lived alone.
