Landline communications had reportedly been restored on Friday by state-owned company Tmcel, while only the remaining mobile, data and internet communications remained cut off since Thursday evening (14), according to an article brought by A Verdade online. However, messages from people looking for their dear ones, asking for help and claiming that they were unable to contact them, keep pouring in on social media ( see below).

The whole of Beira has been without power and comms since Thursday eve so everyone with friends or relatives there are unfortunately without any information. The 1st flights into Beira started today so we hope news will start soon, try not to worry yet
