The barge that connects Mozambique and Tanzania across the Rovuma River will resume service within a few days, after three years of being out of action due to a breakdown.
To this end, a meeting will be held today in Mtwara, involving the governments of Mtwara and Cabo Delgado, the latter represented by the Mozambican ambassador to Tanzania, Ricardo Mtumbuida.
“The barge connects Kilambo, here in Mtwara, and Namoto, in Palma, and as I was saying, the meeting is to discuss the movement of people and goods, connecting those in the border towns,” he said.
