During the period 29 June to 5 July, average prices for basic food products shifted in some shops and markets in the
cities of Maputo, Beira and Nampula.
During the period of reference, prices remained relatively stable in the cities of Maputo and Beira.
However, in Nampula price rises were recorded for products such as yellow sugar (up by 14%), locally grown white sugar (5%), locally grown corn (4%), and locally grown maize flour (2%). Nampula also recorded a decrease in the price of certain food products such as locally grown onions (down by 3.5%) and locally grown tomatoes (7%).
