Attorney General’s and Immigration agents, fake customs official held in Beira, Mozambique

Two public servants, one of from Sofala Migration Services and another from of the Provincial Public Attorney’ office, along with fake customs agents, have been arrested in Beira.
Immigration Services trainee Mereja Remane is being held in connection with unauthorised inspections, according to Lino Mathe, the provincial Anti-Corruption Office spokesman quoted by Diario de Mozambique.
Isaac Ishmael who worked as a security guard for the Sofala Provincial Attorney General’s Office is being held for the illegal release of detained individuals. “He was arrested in possession of evidence that proves his involvement,” Mathe said.
An individual called Rachide Chauma was similarly caught posing as a customs agent and importing cars without forwarding dues to the customs institutions, at the expense of the Mozambican state.
