A World in Common: Mozambican Mário Macilau in group exhibition in Berlin
The Portuguese Cultural Centre in Maputo is bringing together around 50 creative young people with companies, trainers, specialists and funders today to “explore the potential of an alliance between entrepreneurship and creativity”, the organisation has announced.
The event, “Creativity and Entrepreneurship – Uncovering the Potential of Creative Industries”, includes presentations and discussions on business challenges in the creative arena.
Among other topics, practical cases of creative projects will be presented and cooperation and interconnection strategies discussed.
Participants come from various provinces of Mozambique and from artistic branches such as music, dance, theatre and design.
“Cultural and creative industries are now recognised worldwide as sectors of great potential,” says the organisation, which sees them as a way to “reconcile cultural, economic, social and technological aspects with a view to sustainable development”.
The initiative is organized by the Portuguese company Inovamais in partnership with the Maputo Portuguese Cultural Centre and the Anima studio, with support from the Mozambican Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The event is also linked to the Creative Tracks project, co-funded by the European Union.
