The Archbishop of Maputo strongly condemns the armed attacks in the central and northern regions of the country, Radio Mozambique has reported.
Speaking on Thursday at a seminar on agrarian investments in Namaacha district, Maputo province, Dom Francisco Chimoio argued that these barbaric acts revealed a lack of respect for human life.
“Where there is conflict, it is necessary for everybody concerned do everything in their power to avoid it, especially in Cabo Delgado, for example. It is a situation that destabilises the daily life of our people, our brothers. I believe that measures are being taken there to put an end to this situation, which is not desirable for anyone,” he said.
