Applications open for Chevening scholarships for Master’s in the UK – British High Commission in Mozambique

The British High Commission in Maputo announces that applications for the prestigious Chevening Scholarships, for the 2024/2025 academic year, are now open to talented and ambitious students from Mozambique and around the world, with a closing date of November 5.

Chevening is the most prestigious UK government’s international scholarships programme. Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations, the Chevening scholarships are awarded to individuals from all backgrounds who can demonstrate that they have the leadership potential, commitment and skills required to create positive change in their countries of origin.

The scholarship offers full financial support for recipients to study in any eligible Master’s degree at the different universities in the UK, which gives access to some of the best quality educational institutions in the world, exclusive exchange opportunities, and the chance to explore the diverse culture of the UK. Since its inception, more than 300 Mozambican students have received the Chevening Scholarship.

At the opening of applications, the British High Commissioner in Maputo , Helen Lewis, said:

“Chevening was launched 40 years ago and since then people with immense talent have had the opportunity to undertake their Master’s studies in the UK. It is a great honour for us to provide a scholarship that welcomes people with strong transformative potential, regardless of gender, age, background, areas of study and interests.”

The applications are open from 6 of August 2024 for successful candidates to begin their studies in September 2025.
