The Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, highlighted on social media his meeting with President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique this Friday as an example of what he considers a “particularly dynamic moment” in relations between Portugal and Mozambique.
“The reunion in Lisbon with the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, two months after our summit in Maputo, takes place at a particularly dynamic moment in our bilateral relationship, thanks to the commitment and dynamism of our comprehensive and strategic partnership,” Prime Minister António Costa wrote on Twitter in a post sharing several images of his meeting with Filipe Nyusi.
“I am pleased to register the first export of Mozambican LNG. Also in the area of energy we can deepen partnerships, including in renewables,” he added.
Before meeting the Portuguese prime minister who, as head of the government, is his counterpart, President Nyusi was received in the Belém palace by the Portuguese president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
Costa and Nyusi met in September, during an official visit by the prime minister to Mozambique, where they resumed bilateral meetings.
