Mozambique: Roadblocks bring Gaza towns to a halt
A captured Renamo man known as Zacarias Manuel, was presented to the public in Chimoio, capital of Manica province, says that he is from the famous Mangomonhe base in Muxungué, Chibabava district, Sofala province, reported state owned AIM on Sunday, February 21 2016.
“I was trained in Kenya. I am part of a group of 50 young people trained there. We were sent to train in this country to reinforce the effectives,” said the gunman, who was reportedly captured in Inchope, near the Gorongosa mountains, presumed location of Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama.
Cited by AIM, Manuel claims to have participated in ten attacks on civilian vehicles on the EN1 between Muxungué and the Save River. Still according to AIM, Manuel says (speaking in Ndau, translated live for the cameras) that the decision to attack civilian vehicles was taken by “the father of Dhlakama”.
Dhlakama’s father is the ‘Régulo’ (traditional chief) of Mangunde, in the administrative post of Muxungué, in Chibabava.
“Our leader gives orders by phone. We follow orders which are transmitted to the commanders. We get the information and carry out the orders,” Manuel said.
