Mozambique: ANAPRO accuses Education authorities of preventing its activities

A Nagy Investment company bus on the Nampula-Maputo route was attacked early on Monday afternoon on the Nicoadala-Zero section of the N1, in the Lingodzi area, allegedly by Renamo gunmen
The Diário da Zambezia reports that, when attacked, the bus driver did not slow down, but although under fire sped up and managed to control the vehicle. The injured were evacuated to the Caia District Hospital in Sofala.
When news reached the authorities, defence force personnel stationed in Mopeia were mobilized and on reaching the site, came under fire themselves. Some defence force personnel are known to have been injured, with the driver, a worker for the government as they were transported in the Ford Ranger affected to the administrator, narrowly escaping with his life.
At the time of Diário da Zambezia’s Monday edition, traffic had returned to normal with a military presence to secure against further attacks.
This is the second attack in less than a week on a Nagy bus.
