Carlos Saturnino will replace Isabel dos Santos in office, an official source adds, cited by Lusa.
The Angolan president, João Lourenço, today dismissed Isabel dos Santos, daughter of the former Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, as chairman of the Sonangol board of directors, appointing Carlos Saturnino to the post, an official source said.
The information was confirmed to Lusa by the Civil House of the President of the Republic, also reporting that Carlos Saturnino had been released from the position of Secretary of State for Petroleum, to occupy the leadership of the state oil company.
About two weeks ago, Sonangol denied that Isabel dos Santos had been removed by the presidency. The news was advanced quoting an official statement from the Angolan presidency, which was turned out to be false.
Isabel dos Santos was nominated to chair oil company Sonangol by her father, then president of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos, in June 2016.
Since the beginning of November, the Angolan presidency has made several changes in state bodies.
