Malawi orders troops to prepare withdrawal from eastern Congo

Lúcio Lara died in Luanda this Saturday, February 27, at the age of 86, the Angolan state broadcaster has announced.
Lara was one of the founders of Angolan Liberation Movement (MPLA) and was its Secretary General during the war of independence of Angola and the subsequent civil war.
Born in Huambo on 9 April 1929, Lara was also known by his nom-de-guerre Tchiweka, the name of his mother’s home village.
Lara also co-founded the Anti-Colonial Movement, whose members included such luminaries as Agostinho Neto, Amilcar Cabral, Mário de Andrade, Noémia de Sousa, Humberto Machado and Eduardo dos Santos, among others.
