Entering or leaving Luanda province by land will depend on the issue of a transit guide as of Friday, an official source announced on Thursday. The Angolan province is under a sanitary cordon due to Covid-19,
According to a statement from the Multi-sectoral Commission for Prevention and Fight against Covid-19, citizens wishing to enter or leave the province should make a request via the website www.cdircovid19.go.ao, fill out a form and attach a copy of their identification document, the negative result of a Covid-19 test and other documents supporting the request.
If the journey is authorised, the transit guide will be sent by email, otherwise, the reasons for the non-authorisation will be given.
The application will be processed “quickly”, the platform said, without specifying the period of time to examine the application.
The documents will have to be presented at the checkpoints in the bordering provincial areas or in other surveillance actions.
The transit document is valid for seven days from the date of issue.
The situations authorised for entry and exit from the areas under provincial or municipal health fence are the entry and exit of goods and services, movements for professional reasons, humanitarian aid, entry and exit of patients and transfer of corpses unless the cause of death is Covid-19.
Angola has had 183 deaths and 4,972 cases due to the disease.
The covid-19 pandemic has caused more than one million deaths and over 33.7 million cases of infection worldwide, according to the French agency AFP.
