American NASA astronaut and physician Dr. Ellen Baker headlined five events and interacted with more than 1,000 students in Mozambique, Feb. 18-20. She met faculty and students at the American Corner, American Center, Eduardo Mondlane University, and local bank, BCI. In the latter, hundreds of attendees participated in a STEM career fair with more than 15 technology-based companies represented.
Baker shared her experiences working in space, providing a firsthand perspective on how scientific study advanced her career. In sharing her story, Baker helped the U.S. Embassy in Mozambique showcase the United States as a leader in STEM education and careers.
