Three people have been arrested by police in Dondo district, Sofala province, for allegedly planning to murder a woman and her two children in order to sell their organs, body parts.
The three detainees, a woman, her son and her partner, are currently being held in Dondo District Police Command. They are accused of having planned the murder of the women [whose photograph is shown in the Miramar report] and her two children, with the intention of later selling their organs for two million meticais.
The woman and her partner, who are traditional healers, invited the supposed potential victims – the woman’s sister, her baby and her little girls – to travel from Gorongosa to Dondo, where they intended to carry out the plan.
The case was reported to the police by a citizen who passed herself off as an intermediary, after she overheard plans for the assassinations and subsequent sale of organs. She reportedly told the now-detained woman that she had a buyer and a car [presumably for the transport of the bodies].
Meanwhile, the woman accused of orchestrating the plan has accused her partner of being the mastermind behind the plan.
The three individuals are still being held in Dondo District Police Command, and the victims have returned to their home in Gorongosa.
