Mauritius airline Air Mauritius last week launched services to Mozambique and Tanzania, bringing to 26 the number of weekly flights from Mauritius to the African mainland.
In a statement, Air Mauritius announced that it would debut “flights to Maputo from May 4 [Wednesday] and to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) from the 6th”.
Air Mauritius president Megh Pillay noted that “the extension of the network in Africa is the response of Air Mauritius to a significant increase in demand for more and greater air connectivity”.
“African economies are showing remarkable resilience to the global crisis, registering growth rates higher than the world average,” Pillay noted.
