Absa Bank Mozambique opens branch in Chimoio

Absa Bank Mozambique opened a remodelled branch in Chimoio city, Manica province, on June 2.

The latest Absa branch has a new image and a faster and more agile operational dynamic, with technology and an organizational structure centred on the client, with the aim of serving them consistently, proactively and more closely.

The Director of Retail and Business Banking at Absa Bank Moçambique, Pedro Carvalho, said the project would allow the bank to support the country in relaunching the economy through the empowerment of the local business community.

“Absa is very proud of its strong presence in Manica. We are working in coordination with local economic agents to take our services to all districts of the province, through partnerships with entities already in the field, together contributing to the economy of the country,” he said.

In turn, the director of the Absa Chimoio branch, Maria Majimeja, said that the reopening of the branch would serve to attract more credit institutions to Manica and other districts still lacking the physical presence of financial services.

“It is important to have initiatives to modernize the offer of services that respond promptly to the demands of economic agents and citizens as a whole, and Absa Bank Moçambique has managed, with this agency, to provide exactly what we need,” Majimeja observed.

For Governor of Manica Province, Francisca Tomás, who presided over the opening, the presence of Absa Bank Mozambique in the region favours the education and financial inclusion of the community, while enabling the implementation of savings products conducive to the organization of family finances.

“The reopening of this branch of Absa Bank Mozambique is an extremely important milestone for our province, and we congratulate the bank on implementing this innovative digital banking initiative in Chimoio. We are aware of how this space can support us in addressing the challenges of our daily lives,” he said.
