Absa and Mozambique LNG Project open exhibition ‘Faces of Impact: Stories of Community Development in Cabo Delgado’

‘Absa Bank Mozambique, in partnership with the TotalEnergies Mozambique LNG Project, opened a photography exhibition entitled ‘Faces of Impact: Stories of Community Development in Cabo Delgado’ this Thursday in Maputo.
The exhibition presents the faces and stories of social transformation experienced in Palma district, Cabo Delgado province, highlighting the impact of community projects implemented by the Mozambique LNG Project in this strategic region for the country’s development.
More than just a collection of images, the exhibition is a tribute to the resilience and determination of local communities, as well as the collaborative work that has contributed to their social and economic transformation.
“This exhibition reflects the highest expression of resilience and the impact that social projects have had on improving people’s quality of life. We have always believed in the power of communities and their ability to reinvent themselves in the face of countless adversities. As a bank, we remain committed to writing a new chapter in the history of our communities and actively contributing to building a present and a future of hope,” said Denise Cruz, director of retail banking at Absa Bank Mozambique.
With this initiative, Absa Bank Mozambique reinforces its commitment to sustainable development and community inclusion, promoting the recognition of communities as agents of change and encouraging the involvement of different segments of society in social impact actions.
The Mozambique LNG Project has been implementing several socioeconomic development programs including artisanal fishing, soap production, cashew cultivation, fruit and vegetable production and the expansion of sports. Currently, more than 30 programs are underway in Cabo Delgado, generating income opportunities and strengthening community cohesion for thousands of families
“This exhibition is much more than a collection of photographs. It is a living portrait of people, stories, and achievements that come primarily from our Pamoja Tunaweza initiative, which in Swahili means ‘Together, We Can’. Each image on display is a testament to hope and transformation, revealing the real impact this initiative is having on thousands of families in Cabo Delgado. Pamoja Tunaweza is an initiative that brings together the synergies of various public and private actors, communities, and civil society to create value and promote positive change in communities,” said Nicolas Camberfort, Vice President of Operations for the Mozambique LNG Project.
The opening was attended by members of the board of directors of Absa Bank Mozambique, representatives of TotalEnergies, government officials and customers, reinforcing our shared commitment to sustainable development and social inclusion.
The “Faces of Social Transformation” exhibition will be on display until October 30th of this year in the windows of Absa Premier branches in Maputo, Beira, and Nampula.
